We had our practice exams today at a Korean high school. It was a rather interesting experience to see the inside of a Korean high school. For some reason I expected high tech, low lights, and gleeming chrome.

My first clue that all would not be how I imagined was the sight of the outside. I think it looks identical to the high school my mother went to in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

When I went inside I remembered that the Korean education system has its roots firmly planted in Chinese Confucianism. The inside of the class room seemed identical to a Chinese class room.

Even down to the pictures of old dead Confucian scholars adorning the wall.
