Today I once again had to go to the embassy district of Seoul and spend a little time in the Chinese and American consulates. Luckily though that part of town is loaded with fun restaurants. I stopped in a rather imposing diner and had a quite tasty but expensive grilled ham and chesse.

After returning to my side of the Han river I made plans to meet up with my friend Chris for dinner and baseball. On the way to meet him though I happened upon a sight that is normally only seen around the American Embassy not in the heavily protected 'venture valley' portion of town that I call home.

A whole bunch of riot police buses were parked outside the POSCO building. I assumed that some strike or labor protest must have developed. I started looking around to see if things had gotten out of hand.

I saw this crane in a position that it obviously never was intended to be in. I wish I could say that I saw angry protesters turning it over but such was not the case. It appeared to be a garden variety industrial accident of which the world has too many.

The protesters seemed to be nice guys but I thought the most interesting aspect was trying to decided who had used more buses to come to this little event, the police or the protesters. This made me wonder something that I thought was rather entertaining; if the bus drivers go on strike in Korea does anyone show up?

The buses may have clogged up one of the main roads in my part of town but that didn't stop some of my favorite workers from getting their job done. The motorcycle couriers are truly the coolest guys in Seoul. I will even think that they are cool after one runs me over innocently minding my own business on a sidewalk.

Well I finally mae it to the baseball game and even though the Bear fans put up a mighty fight the team didn't do so well. For the first time ever I witnessed the Doosan Bears lose. What a sad day it is.
