Confucianism and Socialist Capitalism

Is this a critique of the new socialist capitalism and its gurus or is it a traditional Confucian critique of Buddhism? I lean to the later but am really not sure. Whichever it is I like it. The character on the left of course is a stylized dollar sign. The character on the right is the character for Buddha.

Where did this come from?

I took this picture at the animation convention in Beijing in October. I thought that it was interesting that the fo was written wrong. I don't know if it is artistic license or a type of script that I have not seen. It definitely is not any standard caligraphy I have seen before though.

I think it's called a 'political cartoon'.
